Customer Reviews & Opinions
So glad my husband gave me this
I hadn’t thought about keeping a pregnancy journal until my husband gave me this book as a Valentine’s Day present. It’s probably one of the best gifts he’s ever given me (I just wish he’d stumbled upon it earlier, because I had to backfill about two months’ worth of data and couldn’t remember how I was feeling during certain weeks). Almost immediately after conceiving I began suffering from absentmindedness, so this journal provided the perfect venue to keep track of all of the appointments, borrowed items, milestones, and emotions throughout our pregnancy. It’s been a wonderful resource, especially considering that this is our first baby and the journal does a great job of suggesting questions we’ll want to ask or the things we’ll want to remember years from now.
I really like the pregnancy calendar at the beginning of the book, the pocketed tabs to stash mementos in, the handy contacts section, and the checklists. I could do without the guided nature of the weekly pages — most of them follow a format of asking about energy, mood, appetite, cravings, and sickness — and would have preferred just blank space to record thoughts for the week. However, you CAN choose to ignore the headings and just write whatever comes to mind. If you’re more of a free-consciousness sort of thinker and don’t like being pigeonholed into a particular format, maybe this journal isn’t for you. But this book works for me, being one who loves to make lists and take notes and keep everything in one place. You can bet I’ll be bringing my journal to the hospital on D-Day, and someday, when s/he’s ready, I’ll pass this book on to my child as a keepsake.
Great journal to have when pregnant!
This is the 2nd journal for me, this time pregnant with a little girl! I loved this journal with my other pregnancy with my son and found the pockets handy and the insightful words inspirational. The journal I bought has a little elastic band that holds the book together and has convenient tabs for the different trimesters. The little pockets are helpful to hold ultrasound pics, magazine clippings or even dr. appt. reminder cards. There isn’t much room to write, a few lines maybe, but good enough to jot down important info liker overall feelings on a particular week or questions for the doctor at the next visit. A great purchase in a stylish and chic hardcover with a spiral bound interior!
Exactly what I wanted!
This pregnancy journal is very detailed with lots of pretty pictures and interesting quotes and facts in it. There are fill in the blank questions on just about every subject related to pregnancy, or at least all the ones you would want your child to read about later. I am completely satisfied with this journal!
I really reccommend this one!
I am expecting my second child. With my first I used a different journal, but I didn’t like it that much. The old one was a paperback with crummy paper. I *love* this one! It’s a great value, with good quality paper that is good for writing on. I like they way each week is a little different in what you are prompted, but there is still a running theme for you to come back to, so you can see how things have changed. I like the kind of prompts that they give you; with any book, there may be non-applicable things, but this book still has lots for me to respond to. It is very durable, and comes with dividers and an elastic placeholder so you can find where you left off. It also has pockets and places for you to paste pictures. I’m glad it does ask for a belly pic each week, because we’re not doing that. There’s even room to fill in a few things once the baby is born, and to record how things went at the hospital.
This book was so nice, I am thinking of getting its counterpart, baby’s first journal… not sure yet, since I will also have a baby book. I spent a lot of time going over the different journals out there, and I’m glad I got this one. I like it better than some of the more popular/common ones!
