Most comfortable golf shoe
I love this purchase. I have a pinched nerve in my foot (Morton’s Neuroma) that is irritated by almost all shoes. Walking in a golf shoe was excruciating. The wide, supportive foot bed plus soft, velcro-adjustable straps on the Bite Orthosport golf sandal have allowed me the freedom to walk and play all day in comfort. I like the neutral color, too.

About Dr. Martens

Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor’s immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany.

By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460 (1/4/60). To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

Good for various foot types
I ordered these for my two girls that wear the same size, but have different foot types. One has very narrow feet and the other has wide feet. These shoes fit both of them well and I heard no complaints all season long. They have held up nicely as well. Because of thick soccer socks I would recommend ordering up about a size.

Great boots - check the size!
I love these boots, they’re great for stomping in puddles, but just be aware that the size is bigger than for regular shoes. My 22mo son just had his feet measured at a 7.5 at Stride Rite, so I figured I’d buy an 8 so he’d be able to use them all summer. Well, these boots are *enormous* on him to the point where they actually fall off if I’m carrying him. I think he’ll be wearing them next summer instead, and we’ll have to get some smaller ones for this year.

These were very heavy and put together great. Much better than the lighter boots at Wal-mart, K-Mart, etc. She grew out of them and I sold them to another parent and they love them as well.

Great Pair of Boots
Ordered these boots for a 10 day trip to Washington state. They performed well in 20°-30° temps with 10″ of snow on the ground and I’d recommend them to anyone. Unfortunately they were lost with the rest of my luggage on the trip home. I’ll be replacing them with another pair of the same. Quick note; My feet measure 11-1/2 and I was undecided on the correct size to order (full sizes only) but after reading several reviews stating that the boots ran large I went with the size 11. Perfect fit, with enough room left over for a thick pair of rag socks.

These boots are the real deal! “D” rings for lace holders make lacing up or down, easy. The liner is nice and thick. The outer is waterproof. These are just what my hard-to-buy-for-husband wanted and got for Christmas.

LIKE WALKING ON AIR!
I bought the first pair of these boots in the grey for my hubby, and from the first day he wore them, he would not change and wear another pair of shoes. I told him he was going to wear them out very quickly, and he said they were so comfortable that he wished he had them in other colors. I ordered a second pair in the only other color I found them in(brown). Although my hubby likes to dress up, and has many dress shoes, he will not stop wearing these Timberlands, and doesn’t stop commenting on how comfortable they are. He has now become a walk-about and can’t stop; sleet, rain, snow or sun! The price at Amazon was much lower than they are sold for locally, and the shipment was super fast. This is a wonderful, well made comfortable pair of boots, and the two colors I bought for him blends in well with many shades … wish they had even more colors. I highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for a very well made, very comfortable, fashionable pair of waterproof hiking boots. Now all his buddies want to buy the same ones.

Great in the snow!
This hiking boot is very comfortable! The vibram sole is soft enough to give one sure footing on ice and snow. I wore them for several hours with a pair of wool hiking socks in 15 degree temps in the snow, and my feet stayed dry the entire time–clearly a waterproof boot. Light weight, great fitting and an overall outstanding boot!

Great shoe. Comfortable out of the box. I have wide feet (double E) and I dread breaking in new shoes. Too often, new shoes for me are too narrow even if they’re advertised as a wide or extra wide. With these boots, I didn’t have a single moment of breaking them in because they were made as advertised (wide in my case) and extremely comfortable. The size was also correct (12 in my case b/c I wear a 46 metric). I’d buy these again and I really enjoy wearing them.

Serious boots for serious winter conditions
Very happy with these boots. Super warm, snow collar helps keep feet dry when plowing through stuff well up on the knee. Strap adds some decent ankle support when scuffing around on uneven/slippery surfaces. Were comfortable right out of the box and so far have had absolutely no leakage. About the only minor complaint I could make is that they are a little tedious to lace up as the laces bind at each eyelit - have to tighten up one set of eyelits at a time.

These boots are definatly waterproof and warm. We have 4ft of snow on the ground with negative temperatures and my feet are warm. They do seem to run small, I ordered a full size larger than my normal hiking boots(you never want cramped toes in cold weather).They’re also designed to be used with Snowshoes and are light enough to not weigh your feet down. I recommend them for anyone who spends long hours in snowy, cold, and wet weather.

Cole Haan Hand-Woven Leather Cover for Kindle 2,Light Bronze

I purchased this cover in Bronze and the color is exactly like the picture, no surprises! The hand woven pattern is amazing and like all Cole Haan products the quality is top notch. The elastic bands hold the Kindle snugly and they do not cover any of the buttons. The top left elastic is right up aganist the power button but does not prevent easy use of it. The first time I put the Kindle in the cover it did not close tightly so I just wrapped a rubber band around it overnight and the problem is solved, it now lays flat aganist the Kindle without any help. I like to hold the Kindle like a regular book so I do not fold the cover back regularly but I did give it a try for those of you who do and it folds back very easily. I am very happy with this cover and feel like it was worth the high price.

Give it time. It’s leather.
I love it. I read the other negative reviews before I ordered it but I decided to give it a try any way. It’s very stylish and good quality. At first the leather was a bit hard to fold all the way back but I figured because it’s leather it will conform eventually. I was right. After about 3 days it folds back effortlessly, perfectly and feels perfect in my hands. It’s leather so of course it will be a bit stiff at first until you break it in. Don’t be afraid to fold it back, you won’t break it. Even leave it folded back open with your Kindle in it overnight to break it in faster. The power button on top is very slightly covered but not a problem or inconvenience. On the pictures the card pocket looks more bulky than it actually is. It’s actually very flat and does not interfere with it closing at all but does seem a little unnecessary in my opinion. Yes it is a little pricey but it’s the best looking that I have found so far. I definitely recommend it.

A good match
I vacillated between this and the “pebble grained” Cole Haan cover. I liked the promised softness of the pebble grain and the color, and the fact that it seemed possible to fold the left side under the Kindle for one hand reading and access to the “Previous Page” key on the left side of the device.

What swayed me was the better protection of the woven model - a slightly stiffer construction and the shock absorption provided by the weave; I suspect the softer pebble grain would fold over on itself and expose the screen to scratching (I’m inclined to be casual about these devices and expected I would throw the Kindle in a briefcase or knapsack on my way out the door; the softer, more flexible cover - and the Kindle - would suffer).

The leather of the woven cover is a beautiful color and sumptuous, and I think will probably become “friends” with the Kindle as is ages and the more it’s handled. I found the business card slot puzzling and - in my case - useless so I removed it. The left side of the cover sits a little flatter against the Kindle when closed. Business card slot for a bookcover? Besides this curiosity, the cover is well designed, fits and holds the Kindle very nicely; the soft suede will protect the screen. A little expensive but the good design and tactile quality it provides makes the transition between electronic and paper media a little less abrupt.
