uhh… yes I love it.
As a rule, I don’t really love the Jonas Brothers, but I do love this song. It’s pop-ish, and I just love the words and to sing along with it.
Luv Ya
This song is great and the music video is HILARIOUS!! BUY IT!! BUY IT!! BUY IT!! And every band eventually seems like they sound like some other band, but it is still the Jonas Brothers’s own sound…their song. AND I LOVE IT! Luv Ya Jonas Brothers….

Henry Jackman’s First Solo Effort Is Great Fun
Dreamworks Animation films usually have 1 thing in common, and that is a Hans Zimmer or Zimmer associated score. With 2009 being the year of only 1 Hans Zimmer score he has given fellow composer Henry Jackman his first solo effort. Jackman has been working under Zimmer since 2006 as an additional composer doing lots of work on the last two Pirates films and The Holiday notably. Monsters Vs Aliens is Jackman’s first solo effort and boy it’s a breath of fresh air. Not to say I don’t love the whimsy sounds of Rupert Gregson-Williams, but something about this score just feels fresh. While he utilizes electronics the majority and heart of the score is orchestral.Early on in the score Jackman sets up with the two major themes of the score. They are subtly played throughout the score. The monsters theme can first be heard in “Meet The Monsters” and it has this great folky jazz vibe. The full-out version of the theme is the track titled “Monster Mojo”. The other theme which can be heard slightly in the first track kind of becomes the main theme even though Jackman never really beats us over the head with it. It can be heard in full glory in “The Ginormica Suite” and while I hate saying it the sound is very Zimmeresque. There is that simplicity and light heartedness that reminds me of Zimmer’s lighter scores and it does indeed bring a smile to my face. While Hans did serve as Executive Score Producer this is clearly a Henry Jackman score.
The entire score is a really fun listen. It has a certain bounce to it that is hard to describe, but it’ll keep you listening. Jackman has certainly impressed me with what has to be one of the greatest freshman efforts to come from an RCP composer in a long time. Bravo. So, get the score and give it a listen. It’s really great to play in the car and it’s a nice light way to break out of the winter months of heavy serious scoring into the summer months ahead.
This is a fun soundtrack
This soundtrack is missing Harold Faltermeyer’s “Axle F”. The song is performed briefly at a funny part in the movie. Despite this minor omission, this is still a fun soundtrack. Henry Jackman still scores an excellent film. I love the sci fi sound of “A Giant Transformation”. I love the feeling of danger he creates with the track “The Battle at Golden Gate Bridge”. I love the groovy sound of “Monster Mojo”. “Ginormica Suite” is a beautiful instrumental piece performed during the ending credits of the movie. “Do Something Violent is an instrumental that really pumps me up. “Purple People Eater”, “Wooley Bully”, and the track by the Little River Band are classic tracks that are fun to listen to. I really like this soundtrack.

That was a Note FROM God, wrapped in a sweet, unassuming, little package that is Charice
The “little one,” as David Foster calls her, delivers that rare combination of power and passion, that is so absent from today’s popular music.I have heard other versions of the song, and good as these are, Charice digs deep and lifts high the true meaning of the song, and drives it straight to your heart.
little one, huge talent!
Charice’s rendition of this song is glorious and brilliant! I can’t say enough. I’m amazed by her talent. I can’t wait for her album and can’t wait to see her headlining her own concert. Great job!
not the first version of this song - but amazing version
this song was recorded by jojo some 2 years ago somewhat like a pop rendition very smooth to listen to. i heard this new rendition while watching oprah show. this is a very stirring rendition. i felt like reaching god when the singer raised her powerful voice at the very last phrase of the song. after the song, my mind when blank for a while and thought i sent a note to god. the singing style is unique and powerful to the senses. this song and rendition will be played for many years to come.
Beautiful and powerful voice
She’s got a voice that communicates straight to people’s hearts. Soulful. And the intensity that she interprets a song is just unbelievable. You’d definitely ask for more of this girl!
She sings it with passion and it touches the heart of a man
I can’t believe that this singer is just 17 years old. She sang it beautifully with passion and power that when I listen to it, I can not hold my tears. This kid when she sings, she can touch the heart and soul of a man. I am glad that at this certain time there is a new singer that sings “REAL MUSIC” and NOT “NOISE”.

The Resurrection of Slim Shady
eminem is an artist, he paints imagery threw lyrics, tells stories and creates some awfully uncomfortable moments, like getting raped by your step dad. He’s so evil and crazy on this album, you can definatley tell he put a lot of thought into each and every song. Every song is great in my opinion. Each with a differnt story, mood or vibe that makes you want to rock out, it’s crazy. His flows are flawless his rhymes are hard and the beats are sick. Dr. Dre produced every song except “Beautiful” which Em produced himself. If you love Eminem or if you just like his older stuff (like Pre-Eminem Show) this is a seriously dangerous album. I’m tellin’ yo it’s crazy ill.

AmericanBeauty my review
American Beauty is great, the harmonies, music, lyrics and feel make this one of the best of its time Attics of my life is beautiful, the guitar on the live version of Truckin is powerful live guitar. Till the morning comes is catchy.
Beauty Is A Real Gem
What makes this masterpiece speak for itself is the main ingredient none other than the tight harmonies flowing throughout this entire recording, infested with strong lyrics,a prime example,Attics Of My Life, flowing like a fine wine remenisant of the classic Beatles,Sun king, and classic is as classic does in Jerry Garcia’s signature tune,Ripple, and other notable tunes such as,Sugar Magnolia, and Operator, the instrumentation is subdued on this album leaving the vocals standing out painting a visual in the listeners mind. This Grateful Dead remastered classic is essential, containing sixteen tracks, ten of the original 1970 album, the last six are live versions of,Truckin,Friend Of The Devil,Til The Morning Comes, also including a single version of Truckin’. An American beauty.
Simply Put….
This is my favorite album of all time. I can listen to it no matter my mood, time of day, day of the week, year etc. It sounds just as great today as it did the day it was released. I have owned it in every format: 8 track, cassette, vinyl, CD, and now MP3. And I will buy it again in whatever the next technology may be.
great sound, got it from a great vendor
I searched around for awhile to find this, and finally did on here through rockaway records. well worth the research, the sound is phenomenal! i’m usually a bit leery of going through secondary vendors on amazon.com, but rockaway records could not have been better. the post office took awhile getting my package here (christmas time), but rockaway records were very responsive to the issue and even offered to send another copy if the post office flailed! customer service you do not see very often anymore. HIGHLY recommend these guys!
American Classic
The Grateful Dead were a band in transition at the beginning of the 1970’s. The San Francisco dream was pretty much dead and over with. The Summer of Love had spun into Altamont. The bikers the Dead had fashioned themselves after had turned a Stones concert into the close of an era. When the Dead released Workingman’s Dead, it was a tighter album compositional than the earlier albums, and showed the band’s (particularly Jerry Garcia) love for roots and bluegress. Gone were the psychedelic jams, in were discipline and a subdued recognitiion of how much was different. “Workingman’s Dead” was a great album by a band that struggled to translate their ideas to tape. But the follow-up, released the same year, was a masterstroke. Opening with Phil Lesh (and longtime Dead-writer Robert Hunter’s) composition “Box of Rain” and closing with a statement of purpose “Truckin’,” this was the Grateful Dead saying goodbye to California and hello to American Roots music. Augmenting the band with members of The New Riders of the Purple Sage, “American Beauty” features nary a Garcia guitar lead, but plenty of his Pedal Steel. It also contains two more Dead classics, Gracia’s philosophical “Ripple” and Bob Weir’s “Sugar Magnolia.”
It’s not just for those classic songs that “American Beauty: became a classic, but for the fact that The Dead were folding all sorts of styles into the mix. There’s gospel, harmonies they’d picked up from their friends Crosby, Stills & Nash, David Grisman’s mandolins, and the immortal line “What a long strange trip it’s been.” It helped to make the album a mixed metaphor: the trip was far from over, yet the path from 1967’s Grateful Dead to now was indeed wide ranging. If one looks closely at the etched glass of the cover art, you can read it both as “American Beauty” or “American Reality.” The Dead had arrived at a crossroads, and as Garcia sang on “Ripple”:
“If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come through the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?”The band made it plain on “Workingman’s Dead” and “American Beauty.” They’d left the 60’s behind, even if the spirit would stay with them in a beautiful reality. The music would never be as spaced as side long blues-workouts of Chuck Berry, but from this moment on, they were masters of their own reality.

she’s amazing.
I first discovered Zee Avi through youtube, as she was being featured on the home page. She has a nice jazzy style to her voice. Similarities to Norah Jones/Adele and other great artists. You should certainly check her out. She’s mellow and awesome!

Wild Thing! Bust A Move!
This sampler is an instant time-capsule back to the 80s- right before gangsta rap took over. Some rap purists would criticize Bust A Move and Wild Thing as too accessible, too “pop,” but that is giving them short shrift. This is a selection of fun hooky rap with heavy electronic beats. This type of “musical” rap was the bridge between the early hip-hop stylings of the Sugar Hill Gang and the later “gangsta” rap of the 90s.After enduring a decade of profanity-laced, misogynistic rap lyrics, this early “pop” rap is a breath of fresh air.
Besides, I challenge you to sit still during “Bust a Move!”
Download this!
Thank you so much for making this available for free! These songs are dope - bringing back some hot tracks from the past, and you know what, they are just as fresh sounding as ever. Especially with the remixes. I love Freak-a-zoid Robotz. Makes me want to do the robot!
