Gets the job done
Bought this rack for a move across the country from Pennsylvania to Colorado. It got the job done with no issues. Didn’t have any weather, so I can’t witness to it’s water-tighteness, but the way the top fits to the bottom I have little doubt there would be any issues. Wind noise was noticeable and mileage suffered, but I think that has more to do with the 40mph headwind we drove into across all of Kansas. I would buy this again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cost-effective alternative to the Yakima or Thule carrier.
Great extra storage space!
I have a Mercury Mariner and this carrier fits perfectly, although it is a little tricky to get the bolts in. We needed extra cargo space as we travel with two large dogs that pretty much take up the back area of the Mariner and this is great because we can stow all our luggage and the dogs have plenty of room. I did not notice any difference traveling on the highway and it is easy to load and unload. Be careful when you have it on the vehicle it will not fit in a standard garage.
