Both a history lesson and a keepsake
I have purchased copies of all of the Obama calendars and this and the one from Sourcebooks are the two best. The Sourcebook calendar is slightly larger and printed on heavier, glossy paper, which makes it difficult to write on if you’re planning to use it to keep track of your appointments. It covers 16 months instead of 12 (starting in September, 2008) and has several hundred inspirational quotations in its calendarium. But the main difference is that the Sourcebook calendar was published in August, before the Presidential election, so the photos in it are mostly photos in which Barack looks good (with his family, or a baseball bat, sitting behind a desk, etc). This calendar has several photos of Barack in which he is mainly looking good, but most of the photos are of historical significance: his keynote speech at the Democratic Convention in 2004, which started it all; winning in Iowa; being endorsed by Ted and Carolyn Kennedy; in flight in Iraq with General Petraeus (an iconic photograph, that was contrasted in the daily newspapers with one of John McCain, who was driving around in a golfcart with former President Bush that same day); speaking to hundreds of thousands of people in Berlin; with Joe Biden at the 2008 Convention; and campaigning with Hillary and Bill Clinton. The cover photo is from Election Night, and the image for January shows him speaking from a podium that says “Office of the President-Elect.”

So although I like both calendars, this is the one I’ll keep after 2009 is over, as a reminder of the incredible journey that lead to the election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States of America.

I’m just echoing the other folks multi-star reviews on here in saying this is a really nice calendar. I’m not sure why the one reviewer on here didn’t like the quality of the calendar - since I think it’s very nice. Maybe they don’t like the candidate

What I like about it is that the pictures are from a span of time throughout Obama’s campaign - even one from election night last month!

a incredible historical calendar based on the first African-American Presdent ever. this is a must have.

the calendar to buy
This calendar is the clear winner compared to the Sourcebooks calendar. Having been published on Dec. 1st, it has more recent pictures, including from the victory speech in Grant Park and also photos with Biden and Hillary Clinton. I also liked the selection of inspirational quotes, not just from Obama, but also from Martin Luther King Jr. and Lincoln. The quotes, along with the pictures will be a source of inspiration for me over the entire year.

Purcahsed several as gifts and own a couple of copies. This is a very, very nice 2009 Calendar very positve and nuturing.

Different cover picture!
We bought this calendar from amazon.com using this page and the calendar we received has a completely different cover picture! It says it’s from the “Signatures Network” like the discription on this web page. But the cover is a head shot with a blue background and instead of saying “Britney Spears” it only says “Britney”. This is the same picture we saw at the other e-commerce sites selling a 2004 Britney Spears calendar we checked. Amazon doesn’t show the back or inside pages so we can’t tell if it’s just the cover that’s different or the whole thing. We also checked an auction site and the only cover we’ve seen on 12″x12″ US calendars is the blue background cover.

The ISBN matches so we think the cover image above might be incorrect. So if you have the one I described above (blue background) and you’re buying this one because you think it’s different, compare the ISBN on the one you have with the ISBN in the Product Details because it might be the same one!

Very Good, Amazon has the wrong pic though..
I picked up my 2004 Britney Spears Calendar @ Barnes and Noble last week. From the impression Amazon gave me, it was going to be the same photoshoot that was used for the ‘03 calendar, which I have. But, I was very elated to see it’s the whole new photoshoot set from her new album “In The Zone,” which I recommend too ;D. But the 04 Calendar is great, new pictures of her looking better than ever!

what else is there to say?
It’s a calendar; not much more to say. Although I am getting tired of the “16 month” calendars that are really 12 months with the other 4 months on one little page. It’s false advertising in my opinion.

Other than that the artwork on this calendar is very good. The stickers are updated to have EOTS and Karazhan for marking as well as some of the old time Raids such as MC even though that is only a 25 man now if that. (It can be 15 manned but we’re getting off track here.)

Other than that; it’s a Calendar, what more is there to say?

If only 8th-grade health class had been this fun.

The docs main goal in presenting all this info is twofold: first, its your body, so shouldnt you finally learn how it works? And, second, they want to help teach ways of preserving the bodys health and youthfulness. To that end, theyve included an Owners Manual Diet, a 10-day menu plan designed not for weight loss, but to make you feel years younger. Great Book
YOU: The Owner’s Manual: An Insider’s Guide to the Body that Will Make You Healthier and Younger by Michael F. Roizen and Mehmet Oz is a book that gives you a tour of every gland and every major system in the entire body. There are quizzes throughout the book that will help you realize just how little you know about your own body. There are many lifesaving facts in this book that will aid your journey toward living a healthy life. According to the authors “it’s your body, so shouldn’t you finally learn how it works?’

Never forget that a big part of living a long and healthy life involves your spiritual well being. If you are desiring Spiritual Enlightenment in a hopeless world with seemingly hopeless problems, May I suggest you read My non-fiction book as well. (See Profile Above)

Love the Sense of Humor
I love this book. The Doctors write with such a great sense of humor. They make learning fun. It is a great reference book, and I will keep it on my bookshelf for a very long time.

Health manual
YOU: The Owner’s Manual: An Insider’s Guide to the Body that Will Make You Healthier and Younger I chose this book because it is written by Dr.Oz and his associate. Dr Oz has been on Oprah Numerous times and is a great authority on the issues of health and the body. The price was great and the book looks new. I saved quite a bit of money with this purchase.

What do you really know about your body?
We live in a society that is obsessed with health and body image, yet most of us know very little about how the ole’ system works. Even those who think they know a lot (myself included) have a lot to learn from this wonderful book. From your immune system to how your body processes the nutrients you put inside it, You: The Owners Manual is a real eye opener and a great book for the health conscious.

So Comprehensive, I Sold My Other Books on EBAY!
First of all, let me say that I have been unhealthy for 15 years. I’m only 33 so that’s sad and ridiculous. I bought this book after seeing it on the Oprah show. I’m the definition of skeptical but I thought what the hay. After reading this book, I took the first step of calling my doctor and setting up a blood serum test. The tests were frightening. Where do I begin?

I had diabetes, was anemic, had a serious Vitamin D deficiency (only 17) , high blood pressure (143/93) , elevated liver enzymes (92) (fatty) liver and was 126 lbs. overweight. I just cried. I immediately began some of the suggestions in the book and followed the diet offered in the back of the book. I replaced my bacon and eggs in the morning with steel-cut oatmeal, milk and fruit. I haven’t eaten red meat in three months. I only drink milk, decaf coffee, water, and occasionally a diet soda. I eat nuts everyday and fish at least three times a week. I feel like a new person. So the results? I started doing all this on Jan. 4 (My New Years’s Resolution). I’m 33 lbs. lighter, off ALL my medications, I’m no longer anemic, Vitamin D deficient, and I’m down from a size 22/24 to an 18.

I personally wrote Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen because I have never been able to understand how what I eat and supplements I take affect my body. This book is so SIMPLE and I love the whimsy illustrations and simple explanations. I finally understand what to look for in a multivitamin, what my liver does, why Omega-3 is SO important, and foods that repair and restore the body.

I’m a changed person FOREVER and I’m not looking back!!!
